Citylight Kristiansand

The city 'skyline' runs through the entire motif as a red line that draws the silhouette of characteristic buildings - the cathedral, the fire tower and major new buildings that can help to locate the motif.

 

The light is characteristic of Kristiansand. It is selected from a place where the light sources are concentrated with great intensity and colour variation. The light is reflected by the sea, which also reflects the last remnant of the blue sky, as experienced in the twilight hour. More distant and fainter light sources in the background create depth in the motif.

 

The light and the skyline are used quite freely in the motif in order to create a balanced composition that reflects today's Kristiansand.
